In Shigeharu Nakano's lots of essays after his conversion, we could find his intention to outgrow his former idealism and to make sure his recognition of reality. His distinctive feature of the theory from conversion to rebirth was the point that his self-discipline was connected with general problems of literature. He said in his essay "Notes on On Writers" that each author who had converted should be required to realize all possibilities in his works in order to become first-dass writer. This idea was evolved into his realism which was his basic idea of literature, "reality to appeal". He must have got this idea of fiction "reality to appeal" from the dispute about realism of socialism at that time. Especially he depended upon Kei Moriyama's understanding of realism, who insisted in authors positive practice more over renectionalism in U.S.S.R. Thus he could discover his theory from conversion to rebirth amplified into general problems of literature through Kei Moriyama's view of realism.
