We examined Wisteria floribunda agglutinin Mac-2-binding protein (WFA+M2BP) as a factor of achieving drug-free status and clearance of HBs antigen in sequential therapy. Subjects consisted of 18patients with chronic hepatitis B who had been receiving NAs for more than 2 years and showed clearance of HBe antigen and HBV DNA (<2.1 Log/mL). In 14 patients who achieved drug free status because of sequential therapy, WFA+M2BP, after administration of PegIFNα2a, increased by more than 1 C.O.I. Moreover, the increase of WFA+M2BP was observed in all patients who had clearance of HBs antigen. The result of this study indicated that measuring WFA+M2BP may be useful to predict the achievement of drug free status and clearance of HBs antigen in sequential therapy.
In this paper, we consider the normality or the integer decomposition property (IDP, for short) for Minkowski sums of integral convex polytopes. We discuss some properties on the toric rings associated with Minkowski sums of integral convex polytopes. We also study Minkowski sums of edge polytopes and give a sufficient condition for Minkowski sums of edge polytopes to have IDP.
