    The general trend of the relation between WECPNL and community reaction are not clarified. From this view point, we investigated the influence of aircraft noise on life environment by means of questionnaire for inhabitants around N, H, K, bases and T international airport, which showed different regional features respectively, and obtained about 1200 valid votes indivisually. According to the consequence of correspondence between WECPNL and positive response around four airports, it has been shown that items, as to "Annoyance of Aircraft Noise", "Disturbance of Daily Life", and "Hearing Disturbance", had similar trend of regression lines notwithstanding regional differences. So we considered basic influence of aircraft noise could have been comprehended from these items, and examined the relation between community reaction and WECPNL. As the result, following points were clarified. The level of neutral point in Likert scale, included many other factors of environmental noise, showed about 70 WECPNL around each airport and each item. Corresponding to this level, the percentage of positive response, which was considered including few other factors, showed about 50% as for "Annoyance of Aircraft Noise", and about 30% as for "Daily Life and Hearing Disturbance". This means the influence of aircraft noise for inhabitants have been conscious as to "the state of interruption" and the border level between positive and negative response in consciousness is about 70 WECPNL. By the way, around air-base in which daily flight numbers fluctuate very widely, the similar evaluated level of WECPNL to civil airport can be obtained by using N_<10> intended for flight days in a year instead of using averaged daily flight numbers of a year.

    The containerless processing conducted by droplet levitation techniques makes it possible to manufacture new materials and conducts non-contact measurement of material properties under the microgravity condition. It is pointed out that surface deformation and internal flow of the large levitated droplet influence the containerless processing. There are few studies about surface deformation and internal flow of the large droplet levitated by the acoustic wave. In the present study, the characteristics of the surface deformation and the internal flow of the droplet levitated by the ultrasonic wave are investigated under the normal gravity condition and microgravity condition by using the aircraft. Under the microgravity condition, it is possible to levitate a larger and more spherical droplet in comparison with under the normal gravity condition. When the droplet surface oscillates in the second mode, the internal flow corresponding to the surface oscillation and the asymmetrical complex flow are observed.

    構造物の接着結合に用られる接着剤が構造接着剤である.わが国で構造接着剤が注目されるようになったのは比較的最近であるが, ポリビニルフォルマール系構造接着剤などはすでに1950年に

    機体部品の結合に実用化されていた.構造接着は在来の金属の結合法である溶接,リベットでの,ロウ付けなどに比べると耐熱性は劣るが,結合強度ではロウ付けやリベッティングに近いし,耐疲労性能ではリベッティングを凌ぐ,構造接着剤は金属をおもな被着体として発達して来たが,接着剤の進歩で金属以外の構造材料や高分子材料などの異種素材との高い結合強度が得られるようになり,宇宙工業の進歩は構造接着剤の使用温度領域を絶対0度付近から500℃まで拡げた。以上のような構造接着剤の性能は多くの製造工業における利用面が多いと思われるので,その性能を中心とし,耐久性,暴露抵抗などのデータを添えてその性質を述べてゆきたい.

    In recent years, the promising patch repair method using FRP composite patches bonded to the damaged components of high speed transportation systems has received much attention. In this paper, the patching efficiency in cracked structural panels repaired with a bonded FRP composite patch containing a piezoelectric fiber composite actuator layer is investigated. A two-dimensional finite element method is used to obtain stress intensity factors at a crack tip. The structural panel and composite patch are modeled as layers composed of Mindlin plate elements, while the adhesive layer is modeled as a thin elastic one. The stress intensity factors are calculated using the modified crack closure method. The effects of location of piezoelectric fiber composite actuator layer, size and shape of FRP composite patch, and stacking number of actuators on the patching efficiency are examined. We also discuss the effect of disbond area on the patching efficiency.

    In the next generations of turbine engines, improving the heat resistance and reducing the weight are the key essential solutions to increasing the thermal efficiency, reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The silicon-based ceramics (ex. SiCf/SiC ceramics matrix composites: CMCs and monolithic Si3N4) are the leading candidates for these applications because of the extreme light weight and superior heat resistance compared to the current Ni-based alloys. The main challenge of the Si-based ceramics is its oxidation and volatilization of the silica in the high temperature combustion gas environment with the water vapor, and thereby its rapid recession. The most promising approach is protecting the surface of the CMCs from the water vapor attack by an external environmental barrier coating layer (EBC). Since the early 1990′s a lot of efforts have been done and no single material can satisfy all the EBC requirements. Thereby, the current EBC trends are directed to the development of multilayered EBCs, with different functions as a significant solution to prevent the CMC recession and to maximize its performance for next engine generations. This paper discusses the history, current status and future trends of EBC development not only in the world but also in Japan. Furthermore, it introduces the future prospects of fine particle spraying in EBC developments.

     International medical cooperation project for State of Libya is reported. The concept of this project is to treat Libyan injured people using international medical tourism system in Thailand. Management of patient, including evaluation, domestic and international transportation arrangement of hospital, is supported by Normeca International Co., Ltd, (Pattaya, Thailand). Treatment of Libyan patient in two international hospitals (Bangpakok 9 Hospital and Navamin 9 Hopsital) in Bangkok was successful. However, continuity of project is uncertain due to unstable political condition in State of Libya and Thailand.

    The performance of incoming air traffic flow control to Tokyo International Airport is studied using surveillance data for future automatic arrival management system development. A probabilistic model that simulates the queueing mechanism of air traffic flow control is built from the time data of all flights that cross the boundaries of appropriately assumed traffic control area. The probabilistic model presents the nature of daily changes in air traffic flow control. Monte Carlo simulations using the model predict variations in flight time delay due to various conditions, such as spacing accuracy and incoming traffic density fluctuation. This paper quantitatively evaluates the importance of spacing accuracy to reduce delay time due to increasing air traffic volume. It demonstrates the effectiveness of a practical method of controlling spacing more appropriately to comply with the minimum spacing regulation of the wake turbulence category depending on the weight of aircraft.

    In order to study wear problems of porous chromium plating vs. cast iron, the radiotracer technique was applied. The flat surface to be tested was porous-chromium-plated and activated in an atomic pile. This surface was rubbed reciprocatingly under dry condition with a non-active and highly wear-resistive cast iron specimen of flat surface. The wear amount was determined by measuring the radiation intensity of wear debris produced and of chromium transfered to the cast iron.
    As a result, it was found that the wear amount changes depending on the testing time and load as follows:
    1) There is a certain critical time when the time-rate of wear changes for any testing load except the least load.
    2) Before the critical time, the time-rate of wear is independent of the load.
    3) After the critical time, the time-rate of wear is proportional to the load.

    We have used muons for an analysis of battery to improve its safety and performance in two ways; one is muon spin rotation and relaxation (μSR) with positive muons to study the diffusion of lithium (Li) in Li-ion battery materials. The dynamics of Li ion can be investigated through the response of muons to the internal magnetic field provided by the nuclear moment of the Li ion. The other is a non-destructive observation using negative muons. Since the muon-characteristic X-rays generated by negative muon irradiation have about 200 times higher energy than fluorescent X-rays, muonic X-rays from Li can penetrate from its housing. Recently, this technology has been successfully applied to the detection of metallic Li in a battery, and we hope that it will be further utilized for safety.

    本研究は,放棄農地の湿原再生のモデル地区(釧路湿原広里地区)で,旧農地区域の地下水環境の実態を湿原区域との比較により明らかにするとともに,農地開発が地下水環境に及ぼす影響について検討し,以下のことを得た.
    1. 地下水面は,湿原区域中央部をピークとしたマウンド状を示しており,主な水供給源は雨水であることが示唆された.また,湿原区域では,地表面水位が地表面近傍に現れ,地下水面変動も小さく,低層から高層湿原に移行する湿原の水文状態にあると考えられた.
    2. 旧農地区域では,地下水面変動が大きく,さらに,地表面水位が低く乾燥しているという湿原区域の水文状態とは逆の傾向を示した.これは,明渠排水路による排水よりも,むしろ,旧雪裡川分断による河水面低下によってもたらされていると考えられた.また,地下水面変動が大きかったのは,降雨によって供給された地下水が速やかに旧雪裡川に排水しているためと考えられた.
    3. 湿原区域では,地下水のナトリウムイオン·塩化物イオン·マグネシウムイオン濃度が高かったが,旧農地区域では顕著に低い傾向が得られた.これは,旧雪裡川への一方的な排水が卓越し,旧農地区域の塩類が排出されているためと考えられた.
    4. 旧農地区域では,湿原区域に比べ,地下水のカルシウムイオン濃度が高く,炭酸カルシウムなどの土壌改良資材が土壌に残留しているためと考えられた.このように,旧農地区域では農地開発が行われておよそ30年経過しているが,現在も土壌改良資材散布の影響が残存している.さらに,約70年前に行なわれた河川の分断の影響が,河水面低下による水文条件の変化を通して,地下水水質の変化に現れており,広里地区旧農地区域を低層湿原の地下水環境に戻すためには,旧雪裡川の水位(流量)の確保や土壌改良資材の処理を検討することが重要であると考えられた.

    Automated thermoplastic tape laying (ATL) and automated fiber placement (AFP) are high-potential manufacturing methods for continuous carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) composites which can ensure operational safety even in highly loaded components such as aircraft wing skins and fuselages or construction large scaled structures. This study aimed to predict the optimum processing condition for thermoplastic tape laying. The material used for the experiment was unidirectional carbon fiber reinforced polyamide 6 (CF/PA6) prepreg tape. The effects of processing conditions such as temperature of pressure roller on the quality of the molding part and the thickness were investigated by microscopic observation. The experimental results revealed that the pressure roller temperature was affected the quality of molding part significantly.
