    This study aimed to determine the prevalence of fecal carriage of extended spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) and/or plasmidic AmpC β-lactamase (pAmpC) producing Escherichia coli among dogs (n=428) in Turkey. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and sequencing were used to characterize genes encoding β-lactamase and plasmid mediated quinolone resistance (PMQR). Antimicrobial susceptibility testing and PCRs for virulence genes and phylogenetic groups were also performed. Cefotaxime resistant

    Map-based cloning techniques are widely used to identify the mutated gene(s) in plant, because chemical agents, such as EMS, are generally used to induce mutations. However, map-based cloning was used to be time consuming to identify the mutated gene(s).

    Whole genome sequence information has already been opened in Arabidopsis, we established a rapid and high throughput mapping technique, ARAMAP system, based on the information of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). To demonstrate the accuracy of this system, we performed SNP-based cloning for a floral internode mutant that we isolated from T-DNA tagging line. Although this mutant is well linked with T-DNA insertion, by using this system we could map to the same locus within two days in a region between 8.559Mb and 13.13Mb of a chromosome. We finished setting of functional markers on the five chromosomes of Arabidopsis in a interval of 0.26Mb to be able to fine mapping of mutant.

    Background: Exenatide (EXE), a prototypical GLP-1R agonist, has been reported as beneficial to the balance of bone turnover in hyperlipidic and hyperglucidic diet-induced obesity in rats (DIO). Objective: To identify the mediation by GLP-1R of insulin (INS), leptin (LEP), osteocalcin (OCN), calcitonin (CT), carboxy-terminal telopeptide of type 1 collagen (CTX-1), procollagen type 1 amino-terminal propeptide (P1NP) and bone mineral density of femur (BMDF) in DIO. Methods: 72-75-day-old male rats had access only to (i) hyperlipidic food (

    5
    .2 kcal/g) and 30% sucrose solution for drinking (1.2 kcal/mL), or (ii) received normocaloric diet (
    3
    kcal/g) and were allowed to feed and to drink water
    ad
    libitum

    Hearing test were performed on, 115 telephone operators in 1956, 134 operators in 1957, 133 operators in 1958 at Aomori Telephone Exchange Office, and on 116 operatiors in 1948 at Hirosaki Telephone Exchange Office. Following conclusion was obtained.
    (1) Appearance of hearing disorders were found in 10.

    .4% respectively and in over 80% of them it was perceptive nature. Moreover, about 50% of the perceptive deafn-ess, they seemed to be hearing disorder caused by the use of recerver.
    (2) About the hearing disorder due to the use of receiver, the following results were obtained.
    a) More than

    % of them, hearing disorder was slight, being less than 30db hearing loss in average.
    b
    ) The incidence was remarkable in males, who had been working oner

    years.
    c) Among the operators who had been working less than

    years, author could not find the cases, whose hearing loss average was morethan 30db. In most of them, it was less than 10db hearing loss in average.
    d) About the shapes of audisgram, author found dip-form most frequently, and next (in order of) V-form, U-form and gradual sloping-form. The dip was found in c4 most frequently.

    been using receiver on one ear only for listening, the incidence of deaf-ness was higher than in the cases who had beenusedon ears alter natively.

    We reported a case of basal cell nevus syndrome (BCNS) . A 12-year old boy visited us for the examination of numerous skin pits on the palms. He showed hypertelorism, mandibular cyst, calcification of the falx, and mental retardation. Clinical diagnosis of BCNS was made by these findings. Examination of other family members did not reveal palmar pits or any other signs of BCNS. Skin biopsy from the palmar pits showed reduced thickness of the stratum corneum and the presence of basal cell carcinoma in the dermis.
    Chromosome-analysis of peripheral leukocytes revealed the deletion of
