Abstract
This paper describes a method for measuring the geometric deviations inherent to five-axis machining centers with an inclined A-axis and a rotary table. The inherent deviations are defined same as the machine with a cradle type table, if the inclination angle of the A-axis is an initial value. Mathematical expressions between geometric deviations and the center offsets of the trajectories were derived. The procedure for identifying the deviation using the expressions was described, and also the expressions can be applied to the cradle type. In addition, validity and the application limit of the proposed method are clarified.
