From the results of rice-culture experiments conducted at the desert of middle Sudan under an extremely hot and dry climate, it was considerably elucidated that (1) rice yield was closely related with the temperature in the active ripening stage, (2) the percentage of imperfectly ripened grains was fairly governed by the temperature during the active ripening stage, (3) the percentage of non-fertilized grains was fairly correlated with the relative humidity at flowering time and (4) big varietal difference in ripening was recognized under a hot and dry climate.
