Abstract

Through an interview survey, we grasped actual situations and processes of flood damage reduction activities by Flood Fighting Teams (Fire Brigades) in communities. As a result, the necessity of assisting technology for "promoting evacuation by call at every door" became clear. Therefore, considering the challenges for evacuation, we proposed a risk map which indicates the fatality prone areas. The risk map made it possible to prioritize the high risk areas during the evacuation promotion activities. We applied the risk map to a trial promotion districts and estimated the time of "evacuation promotion activities". The time for "evacuation promotion activities" can be shorten more than 30 minutes by use of the risk map.
