Abstract
A new method of taking a photomicrograph of a snow crystal was developed. This method takes a picture of a white snow crystal with dark field illumination by using two sources of light.
The famous snow photographs of Bentley also show white images of snow crystals on a dark field. However, they were not taken directly but printed artificially, that is to say, he operated to cut out crystals from duplicate negatives and print them so that the surrounding area was blackened.
It is possible to take a picture of a white snow crystal against a black background directly by the present method even if Bentley's tecnique is not used.
