Abstract

Previously, we proposed a simple flooding scheme to transmit a route request (RREQ) message based on the remaining power of its own node without control packets and complex calculations. This letter presents that the proposed scheme is more effective in improving energy consumption and lifetime with full-duplex than half-duplex in static and mobile multi-hop communications scenarios via the network simulator, ns-3. Moreover, we show that the lifetime of the proposed scheme with full-duplex is longer than that of half-duplex in all scenarios.
