Fundamental Study of a High-Speed Varifocal Lens with PLZT : Towards the Light Field Display Using a High-Speed Field-Sequential Method

Abstract

PLZT is a kind of electro-optical element and piezo-electric element. The refraction index of PLZT varies directly with the square of applied voltage by Kerr effect. We propose a PLZT lens by using this effect, and developed the PLZT lens towards the future 3D displays using time division system.
