The Formulation of Library and Information Policy, "Library 2000" and the Transformation of Social Role of Public Library in Singapore

Abstract

Since the formulation of Library 2000, the quality and quantity of public library have achieved rapid development in Singapore. In this study, I discuss the background of Library 2000 from political and economical perspective and examine the transformation of social role of public library.
