Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find a clue for the keep and inheritance of the culture and identity of Chinese Minority Groups through traditional pattern. In this paper, focused on pattern of Miao and Mongolian, we conducted research on literature for the motif, derivation, meaning, for extracting the characteristic of it. Besides, the questionnaire was carried out with web as awareness survey for minority pattern by Chinese people. Based on the survey, the following results were obtained. 1) Pattern is preferred, but not be used. 2) Meaning of pattern is almost unknown. 3) Ethnic unique characteristics of pattern is unknown.
