Abstract
Elecrtrospray pyrolysis i.e. combination of electrospray and in-flight thermal treatment, has attracted much attention as a preparation method of functional ceramic particles. We report the processing detail of spherical TiO2 nano- and micro particles by electrospray pyrolysis method. In order to obtain desired particle size, the distance between capillary tip and furnace was a key factor contributing to droplet breakup before reaching furnace. Photocatalytic activity of the produced TiO2 particles was evaluated by methylene blue decomposition in aqueous solution and compared with that of commercially available TiO2 particles (P25).
