Study was made on viscoelastic property of melamine resin or benzoguanamine resin and oil-modified alkyd resin. Benzoguanamine resin-alkyd resin system had a little crosslinking density and formed no plateau part in a high temperature elastic domain, but when a part of benzoguanamine resin was replaced by melamine resin, a plateau part was found in that domain.
From the above, it was found that melamine resin has a larger cross-linking tendency to alkyd resin than benzoguanamine resin, and the resulted system has more densely cross-linked structure.
