Well balanced R. G. B. light Intensity and increase of document illumination are necessary for high speed and high copy quality digital color copiers. It means, an illuminator brighter than that of ordinalry copiers is required. So as to get this, Xenon short arc lamp illuminator was experimentally fabricated. Evaluation tests for the illuminatior showed good results.
