Abstract

Phosphorus recovery from dehydrated waste water sludge by incineration using alkali metal compounds was carried out. The dehydrated sludge was mixed with NaOH, KOH or Na₂CO₃, and incinerated at 750 degree to 900 degree after drying treatment. Phosphorus was recovered by extraction using water. The phosphorus was recovered as a form of alkali metal phosphate, and recovery rate reached about 75%.
