A resected case of adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma with a mass lesion in the stomach was experienced. A 54-year-old female, who had been treated for ATLL (Stage IV) on an ambulant basis, visited the hospital because of epigastric pain. Abdominal Computed Tomography (CT) revealed an infant's fist sized mass in the lesser curvature of upper gastric body. Total gastrectomy with a mass was performed. Pathological examination of the specimen revealed malignant lymphoma, non-Hodgkin, diffuse pleomorphic type and a diagnosis of ATLL with a gastric lesion was made. In Japan, additional 41 cases of ATLL with gastric lesions have been reported from 1980 to 1991. Analysis of the literature permits a suggestion that this case is the first showing ATLL with a giant mass lesion growing out of gastric wall.
