The crystal of a fluorene-based organic compound, 9,9-diethyl-2-(biphenyl-4-ethynyl)fluorene, was obtained from a dichloromethane/hexane solution and its structure was determined. The crystal belongs to the triclinic system with space group P1. There are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. Intermolecular C(π)…H interactions are observed between two asymmetric units; their distance are in the range of 2.810 - 3.067 Å. This molecule can be used as a potential organic semiconductor owing to face-to-edge interactions.

The crystal structure of [Ce₂(μ-DEP)₆(TEP)]_n, (DEP = diethyl phosphate), (TEP = triethyl phosphate) was determined by the X-ray diffraction method. This polymeric complex crystallizes in the monoclinic system, with space group P2₁/c, and the following unit-cell dimension: a = 19.517(4)Å, b = 22.646(5)Å, c = 26.494(5)Å, β = 102.050(5)°, Z = 8 and V = 11452(4)ų. The final R value is 0.0614 for 27532 measured reflections.

The title complex was prepared by reaction of 1,3-bis(4-nitrophenyl)triazene with Cd(II) acetate in methanol/NaOH. Single crystals were obtained from pyridine and belong to the monoclinic space group C2/c with the lattice constants a = 20.086(1), b = 16.600(1), c = 11.250(1)Å, β = 102.122(1)°. The crystal structure consists of discrete mononuclear complexes of C₂ symmetry, in which the Cd(II) ions have a distorted octahedral coordination environment. Two deprotonated 1,3-bis(4-nitrophenyl)triazenide ions act as N11-η¹, N13-η¹ bidentate ligands. Two neutral pyridine molecules in the cis position complete the coordination sphere of the metal ion. The complexes are linked to chains via intermolecular non-classical C-H…O hydrogen bonds.

The title compound C₁₃H₁₇N₃O consists of five membered 1,2,4-triazole ring with one O atom bonded to C(9), an n-butyl group at N(3) and 4-methylphenyl at C(8). Although two tautomeric forms (I and II) are possible for the compound, the keto form (II) is obvious in the crystal structure.
