Synthesis and Crystal Structure of 4-n-Butyl-5-(4-methylphenyl)-2H-1,2,4-triazol-3(4H)-one

Abstract

The title compound C₁₃H₁₇N₃O consists of five membered 1,2,4-triazole ring with one O atom bonded to C(9), an n-butyl group at N(3) and 4-methylphenyl at C(8). Although two tautomeric forms (I and II) are possible for the compound, the keto form (II) is obvious in the crystal structure.
