Abstract
Although teaching skills have been studied mainly by focusing on language, recently studies focusing on nonverbal aspects of teacher performance have confirmed its effectiveness in classroom instruction and class management. This paper mainly focuses on what kind of teacher performance is effective for children's activities in the elementary school arts and crafts subject. From previous studies of teacher and child interaction, I derived eight components of teacher performance in elementary school arts and crafts classes. After analyzing these classes, teacher performance indicated by introduction was confirmed as effective in helping to sustain children's interest in learning.
