Abstract
This study, in co-operation with an art museum, explored the possibility of junior high school art classes, focusing on integrating expression and appreciation. The study, based on prior cases, determined the current status and challenges regarding the integration of expression and appreciation, such as how art museums and schools should work together for collaborative learning. The conclusion was to integrate expression and appreciation under a specific theme. As a result, ‘Answer Art’, a theme under which expression and appreciation mutually complement each other was developed, practised, and validated.
As a result, it was found that the activities of expression and appreciation must take place in a mutually complementary way, with the main theme and the works of art as central points.
