Abstract
Media characters are often portrayed as thin, which is believed to contribute to individuals' dissatisfaction with their own bodies. This study aimed to examine the extent to which female characters in the media are portrayed as thin. The BMI distribution of female celebrities, K-pop idols, and YouTubers was analyzed using data compiled from the internet in 2024. The results indicated a tendency toward lower BMI values compared to the general population. The significance and implications of these findings were discussed.
