Polymorphism of Red Cell Adenosine Deaminase by Cellogel Electrophoresis in Rabbits

Abstract

Using cellogel electrophoresis, polymorphism of adenosine deaminase (ADA) was found in haemolysed rabbit erythrocytes. In this study, six different phenotypes A, B, C, AB, AC and BC were observed. It was confirmed from family data that these phenotypes were determined by three codominant alleles ADA^A ADA^B and ADA^C.
