Abstract

Maleicanhydridewasgraftedtoultra-highmolecularweightpolyethylene(UHMWPE)insemi-dilutesolution:thengelcastfilmwasobtainedbyquenchingthesolution.Thesurfaceandmechanicalpropertiesoftheultra-drawnUHMWPEgelcastfilmwasinvestigatedusinginfraredspectroscopy,dynamiccontactanglemeasurements,tensiletest,and90degreepeelstrength.Thesurfaceofulti、a-drawnfilmbecamehydrophilicthroughgraftingfollowedbyultradrawinginboilingwater、;insteadofpost-surfaceti、eatment・The90degreepeelstrengthbetweentheepoxyresinandthisultra-drawnfilmincreased6timescomparedwiththatofthecontrol.Bycontrollingtheamountofgraftedmaleicanhydride,theUHMWPEfilmwithhighmechanicalperformanceandhighadhesivestrengthwasobtained.(
