Abstract

Since polypropylene( PP) is non-polar resin, it is incompatible with inorganic or highly polar fillers. PP and these are, so to speak, the relationship between water and oil. Therefore, it is necessary to add a Maleic Anhydride-modified polypropylene( MAPP) in order to improve the mechanical properties of the PP composite. The characteristic of MAPP( graft amount, molecular weight) affects the mechanical properties. In recent years, research and development of CNF( Cellulose Nano Fiber)/PP composites has been actively carried out. MAPP is necessary for this development as well. MAPP is effective not only in improving mechanical properties but also in improving the dispersibility of CNF. We describe the function and effect of MAPP( graft amount, molecular weight) on the mechanical properties and the dispersibility of filler.
