Polyamide6(PA6)is one of the engineering plastics with high thermal stability, wearable durability and mechanical properties and is a polymer matrix in carbon fiber reinforced plastics. Therefore, in the manufacturing, the adhesion of PA6 materials is significant. For the high adhesion properties of PA6, various surface modification methods have been investigated. Recently, low energy electron beam irradiation method has been developed as a surface treatment method. Herein, we focused on the surface modification and adhesion properties of PA6 substrates using low energy electron beam. The PA6 substrates were adhered with secondgeneration acrylic adhesive after irradiation of electron beam. The adhesion strength was increased, relative to that without any treatment. In the PA6 substrates irradiated electron beam(EB-PA6),the oxygen-containing functional groups was introduced and radical species were generated. The electron beam was achieved to deeper region from the surface of EB-PA6. In addition, adhesion properties of EB-PA6 was kept for more than 7 days. The electron beam irradiation has a large effect on the improvements of adhesion properties of polyamide 6.
