Dissolution of calcite crystal was studued in dilute (H, Na)Ac solution at ambient temperature under air atmosphere. The etching profile of calcite surfaces was examined by Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) as a function of dissolution time. The dissolution rates were calculated from the change in [Ca2+] in the solution and the change in AFM profile.
