Abstract
It is important for safety to predict thermal stress during the life of a reactor vessel. For sodium cooled fast reactor (SFR), thermal stratification where a high temperature fluid part lays on a low temperature part with a thin layer of high thermal gradient between, induces high thermal stress on the reactor vessel. This study investigates the stress induced by fluctuations of the thermal stratification phenomena with a frequency response approach and aim to extent the existing stress response function.
