Abstract

The relocation of molten core materials is the most critical phenomenon carachterizing severe accidents. Due to its importance, mechanistic analyses need to be employed for realistic investigations. SAMPSON severe accident code studies this phenomenon extensively with a dedicate module, providing detailed information of core melting and fission products release. Results in application to Fukushima Daiichi unit 3 are shown.
