Abstract
Three species of the genus Meromyza MG., sibirica FED., inornata BECKER and pratorum MG. are newly recorded in Japan. The injurious species in Japan, the wheat thigh chloropid fly, known as M. saltatrix (L.), is proven to divide into two different species, M. nigriventris MACQ. and orientalis FED. Short redescriptions on the six species are added with illustrations of the male genitalia. A key to the known species from Japan is presented.
