Abstract

The sex pheromone produced by females of the Comstock mealybug, Pseudococcus Comstocki KUWANA, was isolated and identified as 2, 6-dimethyl-3-acetoxy-1, 5-heptadiene. Synthetic pheromone showed a potent activity in laboratory bioassay and field test.
