The spatial distribution pattern of Monochamus alternatus populations on dead pine trees is described. The m-m^* regression method of analysis was used. Oviposition scars, larval mines and emergence holes were distributed contagiously between trees. On sampled logs 50 cm long, distribution patterns of oviposition scars and larvae were also contagious but those of larval mines and emergence holes were uniform. On the log surface, oviposition scars, eggs, larvae, larval mines and emergence holes all have a uniform distribution.
