Abstract
In orchard grass fields the first instar nymphs of the timothy plant bugs appeared in mid-June when ears of orchard grass sprouted, and adults developing from the nymphs disappeared by mid-August when the ears withered. The bugs settled on the ears throughout their life. In a laboratory experiment, bugs from the first instar to the adult stage (both normal and antenectomized) gathered on the ears of orchard grass plant laid in a box in the dark. The nymphs grew to the adult stage when fed ears. The feeding of male and female adults on seeds of orchard grass had a harmful effect.
