Abstract
Morphogenetic activity of 29 juvenile hormone analogues was compared with that of C18-Cecropia-JH against allatectomized 4th instar Bombyx larvae. Among the compound tested, methyl 10, 11-oxido-3, 11-dimethyl-7-ethyl tetradeca-2, 6-dienoate was the most active, i.e., 60 times more active than C18-Cecropia-JH in injection test. p-ethylphenyl epoxygeranyl ether was also more active than C-18-Cecropia-JH. In topical application tests, peanut oil was found to greatly enhance the JH activity of the compound when it was used as carrier.
