Abstract
The Virtual Printing System simulates real woodblock printing: generating a woodblock, spreading inks on the woodblock, putting a paper sheet on the woodblock, and rubbing the paper sheet with a Japanese squeegee BAREN in a virtual space. We study digital archives of Japanese prints Ukiyo-e based on the virtual printing method. We developed new virtual ink to create Ukiyo-e with the virtual printing.
