Abstract
In this paper, we discuss NPR for a monitoring camera. Monitoring cameras take overshoot or undershoot images because of various lighting situations. In order to show human facial features clearly, it is necessary to compensate these images. However, general image compensation techniques require manual parameter settings for each lighting situation. Therefore, we apply NPR to these obscure images in order to emphasize the features. Our experiment shows that the video images by proposed method are superior to original video images and compensated video images by conventional methods in recognition speed.
