A Proposal on Digital Moving Image Color-Management System

Abstract

Problems abound regarding the issue of quality control under environments surrounding digital moving image content. Under numerous projection environments with varied color-space realizing capacities including theatrical DLP, CRT and PDP monitors, organic EL, PC, and LCD monitors of mobile phones, development as well as practice of the technology that faithfully reproduces the color of the original image as creator intended, are highly anticipated. This paper proposes a test system for examining the color management service, which enables the articulate reproduction of color of the originals, regardless of device types or environmental characteristics, by employing color-related metadata of the original image, the standard image test chart, various manufacturers' device profiles, and the calibration algorithm for faithful color reproduction.
