Abstract
This paper proposes finite element modeling methods for real-time cutting simulation in order to establish VR environment where users can try cutting procedure. Compared to related study, we describe both geometry and physics of soft tissue incision while not subdividing model elements. This approach does not change the number of vertices, which avoids increase of computation time and allows fast update of stiffness matrix. Some experiments on general-purpose PC confirmed that the methods could simulate valid shape of incision in real time.
