In this paper, we propose a genuineness judgment of a bar code printed using an ink jet printer. In recent years, barcodes have been widely used for drug labels or aircraft boarding passes, but counterfeiting of barcodes has become a major problem. In order to solve this problem, from our experiments, it is observed that the shape, size and location of printed dot are randomly distributed even in the same gray level. We consider to utilize this characteristics to separate genuine print and counterfeited print. In this study we propose the novel approach to detect counterfeited 2D symbol or 2D code generated by inkjet printer with image preprocessing and Locally Likely Arrangement Hashing scheme. As a result, 55% of the registered barcode could be correctly identified.
