Improvement of Disaster-Information Tweeting and Mapping System

Abstract

In order to minimize the damage at the time of a disaster, it is important to collect and distribute information quickly and accurately. Therefore, Twitter, which is characterized by high immediacy and many users, is attracting a great deal of attention for its use in disasters. Based on this background, we have implemented a disaster information tweeting and mapping system DITS and DIMS in previous research and have improved it. In this paper, we report improvements of the system based on user's opinion and extension to the peacetime utilization system (local information tweeting and mapping system LITS and LIMS).
