A Study on Structure of CNN for Classification of Brood Condition in Honeycomb Image

Abstract

In recent years, the decrease of bee population has become a problem due to the effects of pesticides and other factors. In our laboratory, we are investigating a method to support bee monitoring in the beekeeping. We classify the hexagonal cells, called brood cells, from images of the honeycomb frame using CNN. In this paper, we investigated the classification accuracy for different CNN structures.
