Evaluation of Concentration Levels in Online Learning Using Eye Tracker Device

Abstract

The COVID-19 has resulted in schools shut all across the world. As a result, education has changed to online platforms remotely from classical forms of learning. However, for many students, one of the most challenging aspect of online learning is that it is difficult to focus on the screen for long periods of time. Thus, students are easily distracted by social media or other sites during class. Therefore, it is necessary for the teachers to keep checking the students whether they are focused or not during class. In this paper, we propose a new method to surveil how students are concentrating during online class using eye tracker device. The experiment results showed that the proposed method is effective to evaluate concentration level for student in online learning.
