Abstract

In truss tower structures, if the main posts are not strong enough against compressive forces, the structure may collapse triggered by the buckling of that ones. With the increase in the assumed load following the revision of design standards, it is necessary to establish a reinforcement method for the main posts of steel tower for power transmission. In this study, the reinforcing effect using flat bars was verified by member compression tests, and an evaluation formula was proposed to estimate the bearing compression capacity of the flat bar reinforced members.
