Abstract

We developed a client/server system to acquire and arrange the agricultural chemicals registration information (ACRI), in order to support to compose the prefectural standards for agricultural pest control (PSAPC). At first, we reviewed the contents of PSAPC issued in 6 prefectures. The results show that these PSAPC are described in different formats in each other but they include the common contents such as the rules for agricultural chemicals use (RACU) on individual crops. The data of RACU are based on ACRI. Therefore, we developed a client/server system, to administrate an ACRI database (ACRI-DB) and provide the data of RACU in the server side, and to acquire and arrange the data in the client side. This system consists of a server application and several client applications. The server application “Nouyaku-navi DB Server” provides the data of RACU from ACRI-DB via a Web interface. The client applications acquire the data from the server application and arrange them for various purposes. We developed “ACFinder for Nouyaku-navi” and “ACLoader” as examples of the client applications. ACFinder enables to retrieve and acquire any data of RACU easily. ACLoader enables to arrange tables of RACU after the data acquisition. On the client applications, users can directly arrange the data, such as offline search, sort, tabulation, and data addition, and thereby they can reduce labor for data arrangement to compose PSAPC.
