We studied a method of displaying characters and images by on-line and developed the NAPLPS image communication program as a way of improving data communication. This program enabled both characters and images to be displayed in a network environment where only characters had been able to be displayed.
Moreover, as a result of our study on simplifying NAPLPS image creation, we developed the program for drawing daily nationwide meteorological value distribution maps and mesh maps of various altitude values by inputting numerical data of meteorological data and digital national land information.
In addition, we discussed techniques of simply drawing various kinds of graphs for NAPLPS using currently available commercial software.
