Abstract
The purpose of this report is to consider reasons why the inner city districts of Munich, Haidhausen and Wetsend, have not fallen into such a problem district as those which we can observe in many large German cities, although there was danger of spiral deterioration for those two inner city districts in the 1970s. The actor for urban redevelopment in Munich, namely Münchner Gesellschaft für Stadterneuerung (MGS), has played a very important role for the success. This report depict the activities of MGS.
