Abstract
Tokyo Metropolitan Government established "Precept on Natural Conservation and Sustainable Use for islands of Tokyo" in 2002. The precept is administrative standards stand within administrative organ. Because the concept of ecotourism is applied to this system of sustainable use, we call this system "Tokyo Type Ecotourism". This is the system that Tokyo Metropolitan Government (a local self-governing body manages integrated administration of large region) suggests a plan for sustainable use and a town hall or a village office (a basic local self-governing body) put the plan into effect in cooperation with Tokyo Metropolitan Government. In 2003, Tokyo Type Ecotourism started at Minami Island and Sekimon area of Haha Island in Ogasawa Islands.
