Climatic data rescue in Asia and long-term monsoon variabilities

Abstract

This study reveals the long-term changes in Asian monsoon based on document based rainfall data before the first half of the last century which have not been utilized in the former studies. The climatic data before the 1950s were sparce in Southeast Asia, while we found some documanted data during that period and digitized them. We analyzed long-term changes of onset and withdrawal of summer rainy season in the Philippines by utilizing daily precipitation data.
