Abstract
In many wine producing region in Europe there has been a growing awareness for the value of vineyard landscape as a cultural heritage that represents local identity rooted in wine and its culture, which is expected to be an alternative resource for the “traditional” enotourism constituted mainly of winerys’ visit and tasting. In this study, development of a new type of enotourism in Penedès region (Spain) is analyzed, focusing on the creation of touristic itineraries (hiking route) as a form to link vineyard landscape with tourism.
