Internal Structure of Izu-Oshima Geopark through the Roles of the Guides

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to show internal structure of Izu-Oshima Geoaprk through the roles of the guides. After Izu-Oshima was registerd as Geopark, the guides came to take the various roles such as  provider leading regional development and the communicator as well as tour operator. Through the geopark activities by the guides, the fence between life and tourism space decreased gradually. In Izu-Oshima, the new structure that a variety of elements were tied to a main shaft organically in "Geopark" has been visible.
